BPB-Episode 4 "Fatal Attraction"

Okay I penciled this Saturday, inked it Sunday and here it is.  I've also worked on the script for part of a comic anthology with a friend of mine from College and a few others.  My comic is called Rear Naked Choke, and I'm having a blast writing and developing the characters and story.  I'll keep you posted.

Sketch-A-Day: Juniper

Okay, so I been bitching about putting up a sketch a day to beef up the blog and to shake the dust off.  Drawing gets tricky when I work ( 9:30 AM to 6 PM clutching a pen tool all day and I'm very sure that somewhere down the line I might develop arthritis of the hands (it runs in my family) but then again, I can't stick a cattle prod in the ass of my art career without drawing...so....long story short I was penciling the next BPB installment when my cat Juniper jumped on my art table like she often does.  The little kitty looked so cute sitting there that I was moved to grab an ink pen and just do some quick sketches.  I also snapped a few pics, she was in rare form.  Even as I type this Juni has her head on my laptop, she simply has to get into whatever I do.  May become a problem when I start painting again...

BPB-Episode 3 "Drink of Choice"

So I broke out the ol' dip pen and Higgins Calligraphy ink for this one, the process was slow, but well worth it, the variety of thick to thin I got was amazing.  Unfortunately, the scan doesn't do it justice as is often the case.  I'm trying to update more frequently, however, my year old puppy literally bit the hand that feeds him on Labor day and my index and middle finger became swollen.  I'm sure inking/coloring for the FP style guide didn't help either; but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do.  I'm contemplating posting a sketch a day or something to keep the blog fresh.

BPB Episode 2 "The Last Shot"

As I say hello to my single follower (I'm not doing this for the acclaim), Here is the second installment on Brown Paper Bag the art anthology.  This one gets a little deep and the western time period was fun to draw especially while listening to the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack by Bill Elm & Woody Jackson.  Great stuff, and like Ennio Morricone it fits the period well but also has a modern twist to it.  I'm always amazed at how much like a rattlesnake that rattle instrument sounds....LoL.  The end is open to interpretation and I'm doing that on purpose.  Emitting dialog helps, as each person will inadvertently inject their own back-story and outcome.
